Heidi J Kellam
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by.
I write the weekly newsletter What We Have Learned on Substack and cross-post many of my essays on LinkedIn and Medium. My memoir, Without You, is about intergenerational divorce and poverty. I’m currently looking for an agent. If you are one or know one, please reach out!
Meanwhile, I’m a doctoral student in Positive Developmental Psychology at Claremont Graduate University. I study mindfulness, interpersonal emotion regulation, and close relationships, particularly parent-child dynamics.
I hold a Master of Arts in Positive Developmental Psychology and Evaluation from Claremont Graduate University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Oregon. At California State University, Fullerton, I teach research methods, statistics, and developmental psychology in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences
An Integrated Life
Memoir and Psychology
I write memoirs because real life is so much richer than fiction. Inevitably, my understanding of developmental processes informs my writing, as does my sense of humor and feminist leanings.
I have two beautiful children who are no longer tiny people. In place of caring for the tiny people, I have adopted two cats. They are way less maintenance and don’t make me half as proud as my children. I love them still.
